Lake fishing, river fishing, mountain fishing. Big Sky is a mecca for fly fishermen, many of whom come from all over the world to challenge its rivers and wet a line.

There are a number of outfitters available who can gear you up and there are guides to show you the sweetest holes. East Slope Anglers (406-995-4369) operate a year-round guide service just south of the junction of Highway 191 and the Big Sky spur road. They're now an Orvis dealer. Lone Mountain Ranch (800-514-4644) is also Orvis-endorsed, runs a year-round fly-fishing program, and is great for beginners. Gallatin Riverguides' store (406-995-2290) is located one-half mile south of the Big Sky entrance from Highway 191. They're a year-round fly-fishing outfitter.
