An exciting time for celebrating nature, outdoor skills, hunting and ecological education and awareness, Elkfest kicks off the 41st Boy Scout Elk Antler Auction, May 17-18. Antlers collected on the National Elk Refuge (307-733-9212; http://www.fws.gov/nationalelkrefuge) are auctioned off (mostly for furniture, wall decorations, jewelry, and ground into aphrodisiacs in the Far East) to support the winter feeding program.
