Cowboy Up In Steamboat

It's known far and wide as Ski Town USA, but Steamboat offers plenty of fun in the summertime, too. One of Steamboat Springs' oldest traditions, the Cowboy Roundup Days, salute the spirit of the Old West in grand fashion.

Steamboat is the kind of place where cattle were driven down Lincoln a century ago, and still are every 4th of July as part of Cowboys' Roundup Days. Roundup (June 29 to July 4) is a Steamboat tradition, the town turning out and saluting the spirit of the Old West with parades, fireworks, and a griddle cake feed. Don't miss the Steamboat Springs PRCA Summer Pro Rodeo Series on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning June 13 through the end of August. Professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls compete for prize money and silver buckles in bareback and saddle bronc riding, steer and team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and bull riding. Don't miss the BBQ. The rodeo grounds are at Romick Arena, one block south of Lincoln. It's very family-oriented. The cost is reasonable, and everyone is welcome.
