Ride the Howler Alpine Slide (970-879-6111; http://www.steamboat.com). It's fun for everyone. Take the scenic chairlift to the top of Howelsen Hill in downtown Steamboat Springs. Then you'll fly down a 2,400-foot course, with eight 180-degree turns, six 90-degree turns, one set of three rollers, one waterfall, a 400-foot vertical drop, and the steepest alpine slide terrain in North America. Individual ride tickets or multiple ticket purchases are available. Children 3 to 6 may ride with an adult. Ages seven or older may ride alone. Operates daily from June 15 to August 26, 2008.
