You can walk all the way to the top of Tod Mountain (what Sun Peaks used to be called when it was exclusively a local ski area), or you can take the Sunburst Chairlift to the halfway point. Sun Peaks is perfect for hikers. Take to the valley or alpine trails, explore alpine meadows in full bloom, and enjoy the reward of spectacular views. There are trails and destinations for all levels of fitness.

Sun Peaks has guided hiking tours for those who want to learn more about the flora and fauna of Sun Peaks. Tours start at the Village Day Lodge where guests are led to the Sunburst Chairlift for a scenic ride up to the mid-mountain area. From there, your guide will take you for a hike through the alpine, where you will see the true beauty of Sun Peaks. Tours are two hours in length and depart every day at 1 p.m.
