Use the steamship, actually a ferry boat, to move around the lakes at Interlaken to charming villages, where you can step off onto cobblestoned streets and back to a more relaxing, evenly paced age.

Take another train ride along the north shore of Lake Geneva to the castle of Chateau de Chillon (http://www.chillon.ch/en), a castle made famous by Lord Byron in his poem "The Prisoner of Chillon." Today, it hosts a museum and tours.

You don't have to know a discus from a DVD to enjoy the comprehensive museum in the International Olympic Committee's headquarters city of Lausanne.
