Switzerland Celebrates Its Past

See a castle. See lots of castles. Or tour museums like none you've ever seen before.

Use the steamship, actually a ferry boat, to move around the lakes at Interlaken to charming villages, where you can step off onto cobblestoned streets and back to a more relaxing, evenly paced age.

Take another train ride along the north shore of Lake Geneva to the castle of Chateau de Chillon (http://www.chillon.ch/en), a castle made famous by Lord Byron in his poem "The Prisoner of Chillon." Today, it hosts a museum and tours.

You don't have to know a discus from a DVD to enjoy the comprehensive museum in the International Olympic Committee's headquarters city of Lausanne. Traveling exhibits of Olympic sports history will come and go throughout the year, and different concert offerings can be heard on many Sundays. (www.olympic.org)
