Description

Angel Fire is a high-altitude haven in New Mexico's Moreno Valley. The valley at 8,400 feet above sea level is surrounded by towering mountains typically splashed by spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

The Ute Indians gave Angel Fire its name when they saw those glowing skies and called it the "fire of the angels."

Summers are cool and dry. You'll rarely find a day with temperatures hotter than 80 degrees, even in July and August when everywhere else is red hot.

Angel Fire is an ideal place for you and your family to plan an ideal summer vacation. Additional details on most of the summer activities are available by calling the Angel Fire Chamber of Commerce (toll-free 800-446-8117 or 575-377-6661; http://www.angelfirechamber.org).

The resort is in the heart of Northern New Mexico, 24 miles east of Taos. It is three hours north of Albuquerque. The Albuquerque International Airport is serviced by all major airlines and rental car agencies. Shuttle services are available from the airport as well by Faust's Transportation (505-758-3410).

Angel Fire Resort has a licensed day care facility available (505-377-4213) for children ages six weeks to six years old. It's a perfect way for Mom and Dad to enjoy rafting, horseback riding, golfing, or just catching up on quality time together. The licensed program is open Monday through Friday, and daily during ski season.
