July is music month in southwest Colorado when the 12^th annual Crested Butte Music Festival takes place at venues in both town and at Crested Butte Mountain Resort July 4-26.  Festival goers will hear more than strings and woodwinds in concert halls.  This is cowboy country. 

You can drink beer and listen to Beethoven in a barn, take in the sounds of a ney (Persian flute), attend home soirees for an intimate concert setting, see what happens when dance troops from Boston and Las Vegas come together to form Rhythm Fusion, and watch stars from the Met and a conductor for the Royal Opera House present Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.  It also includes performances by the Blue Canyon Boys, winner of the 2008 Telluride Bluegrass Competition, and The Infamous Stringdusters, considered the new vanguard of acoustic music.

Crested Butte Mountain Resort is the official lodging partner of the month-long music festival and offers several different packages throughout the month at the Elevation Hotel & Spa, The Lodge at Mountaineer Square, and The Grand Lodge, to mention just a few.

The Infamous Stringdusters Package offers a 10-percent discount on lodging and includes one ticket for the show, a CD signed by the band, and access to a  "Meet the Band" reception after the show.  The date of the performance is July 11.

Beer With Beethoven takes place on July 12, and the package, with a 10-percent off lodging, includes one ticket for the performance, an opportunity to meet the conductor, and access to the after party where you can host a couple of grogs with the musicians.
