The Western Slope mountain towns of Gunnison, Almont, Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte have teamed up to showcase the best of Colorado. Escape to the cool, clean and crisp Rocky Mountain air and laid-back, friendly atmosphere of beautiful Gunnison Valley.
"Colorado Fest: Celebrating Colorado's Food, Wine, Beer & Art" (http://www.coloradofest.com) is a second-year event that focuses exclusively on Colorado. This year's one-day festival is on Saturday Aug. 9 beginning at noon, in Almont, and includes a wine and beer tasting event where guests can participate in ongoing 20-minute "Basic Introduction to Wine" educational sessions with local Sommeliers Carolyn Riggs, David S. Carbonetti and local winemakers.
The Almont Resort is adjacent to the East River at the confluence of the Taylor River which forms the Gunnison River.
Guests can also tap into their own creative sides with hands-on pottery and cooking classes, music and more.
Participating wineries, restaurants and menus can be viewed at the Colorado Fest website.
