The Mountain Top Inn & Resort has designed a package for equestrian enthusiasts, novice and accomplished riders alike, that allows them to explore miles of scenic trails on horseback, through Nov. 1.

The Horseback Riding Vacation offers a three-night riding package that encompasses lodging in a Classic Lodge Room, breakfast, six hours of guided trail rides per person, use of the resort's facilities including a private lake-front beach, hiking trails, kayaks, canoes, tennis court, and more.

Massages, clay bird shooting, pontoon boat cruises and mountain bike rentals are available, but for an additional charge.

The package starts at $1,200 for double occupancy. Guests who arrive Sunday, Monday or Tuesday save 20 percent off the package price.

Stays may be extended for $1,400 for four  nights and $1,600 for five nights in a Classic Lodge Room.

The package may be upgraded to a Luxury Room, at $1,595 for three nights, $1,895 for four nights, and $2,195 for five nights.

Caveat: Mountain Top may add a premium charge of $200 during foliage season.

Mountain Top is a four-season resort in Central Vermont 11 miles from Killington, set on 350 acres with sweeping views of a mountain lake and Green Mountain National Forest.
