Designed by Gene Bates, the championship course has flat and narrow, tree-lined fairways, sensational views and firm, undulating, quick greens. Walking permitted during the week at Green Mountain National Golf Course (888-483-4653 or 802-422-4653). Lunch is served at the clubhouse. Pro shop, cart rentals, lessons, driving range, clubhouse. No denim; collared shirt required. Metal spikes unacceptable. Rating/slope: Blue 72.6/139; White 70.2/132; Yellow 67.0/124; Red 68.9/126.
