Description

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain in Westport, a 40-minute scenic drive from Lake Placid, this century-old 18-hole, 72 par course, is challenging with striking vistas of the Adirondacks. The original 6-hole course was laid out in the late 19th century, and enlarged to 9 holes near the turn of the 20th century by Thomas Lee. Westport Country Club (800-600-6655 or 518-962-4470) was expanded to its current 18 holes in the 1920s by Thomas Winton. Season runs mid-April to late October. Food service from late May to late September. Carts not mandatory; walkers and 9-hole play accommodated.
