Cool down and chill out this summer. You'll often find Olympic caliber figure skaters, singles and pairs) honing their routines at the Olympic Arena in Lake Placid Village.

The 1932 Rink Jack Shea Arena (518-523-1655) has a summer full of ice action. Check the local schedule for actual skating events, concerts, and other entertainment.

June 22 and 23, the Citizens Bank Summer Ice Series kicks off with Freaky Friday and Saturday Night Ice Show. The Saturday Night event is a tradition that dates back over 70 years.

Over the years, these summer performances have featured many top figure skaters, including Dorothy Hamill, Sarah Hughes, and Victor Petrenko. The Saturday Night Ice Shows are a peek at the future of figure skating.

Admission to the Saturday Night Ice Show is $9 for adults, $6 for juniors and seniors, while children six years and under are admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at the Olympic Center Box Office at any time, at the door the night of the show and at the ORDA Store on Main Street in Lake Placid.
