The Combes Family Inn Bed and Breakfast is a family inn on 50 acres of rolling land off a quiet country back road in the heart of the mountains.
It began in the late 1800s as a dairy and maple syrup farm, when the Ellison family began accumulating property on the northeast side of Lake Rescue. Town history records that the Ellison Farm supplied the area with milk from its dairy herd, and syrup from its maple sugaring operation.
It passed into the hands of the Combes family in 1976, when Ruth and Bill Combes and Ruth's sister Nancy went looking for a country inn.
They found an old farmhouse in much need of tender loving care, which they provided as they created a family inn with space for up to 35 guests.
Rates vary by season and number of guests. Spring rates are in effect through June 18. They are $76 for a single room, $86 for a double room, $30 for an extra adult, and $10 for an extra child.
