Elk River Touring Center (ERTC) is located on a 150-acre former mountain homestead in the heart of the Monongahela National Forest. The old farm is located on the headwaters of the Elk River, surrounded by forest, lush meadows and mountain peaks.

The popular Elk River Center, noted for exceptional fly-fishing knowledge, can provide an expert guide well-schooled in the art of finding the best spot to toss a line.  You can test your skill against spirited native trout or even elusive Red-Eye bass, and you can conveniently purchase or rent supplies and equipment at the center's store.

How about a Fathers Day fly fishing weekend?  Arrive early, check in, relax and unwind, fish Friday afternoon, and get to know your guide for the weekend.  Dinner at the Inn, of course, will be served after the evening hatch.  This is fly fishing country, after all. 

The fly fishing staff will guide you to their teaching area after breakfast on Saturday morning to begin an instructional part of the program, which is included in the Fathers Day Fly Fishing Weekend Package.  Strong anglers that don't want instruction can head right to the stream.  You will have a choice of fishing four locations - one for brookies - that are guaranteed to challenge the best of anglers.

The package, which is $675 per person, includes one day of guided fly fishing, two full dinners prepared by Chef Chuck Wolfe, two lunches, two full breakfasts and two nights' lodging at the Elk River Inn.  A second day of guided fly fishing can be included for an additional $189.95 per person, or you can go on your own.  The per person price is based on double occupancy.

A packed lunch will be provided both days.  The instructional session will cover casting, mending fly line, presentation, understanding dry fly tactics, nymphing with confidence and much more.  It would be a great way for a father and son, who have been thinking about taking up fly fishing, to get started with a trial weekend.
