One of Steamboat Springs' most colorful spectacles gets underway the weekend of July 11-12 when over 40 hot air balloons convene at West Lincoln Park and rise gracefully up into the early-morning air. The 29th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo joins with the 35th Annual Art in the Park to create one of Steamboat's most fun-filled summer weekends.

Attendees can save up to 15 percent on lodging during this major summer weekend. Book a condominium or private home for a minimum of two days and get a 10 percent discount on your rental. Stay three nights and receive a 15 percent discount.

The weekend's events get underway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night with the Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo series at Romick Arena in downtown Steamboat Springs. The balloons inflate and ascend over the Yampa Valley, making for a  spectacular photo opportunity Saturday and Sunday, between 7 and 9:30 a.m.

The Art in the Park gets underway at 9 a.m. in West Lincoln Park and lasts until 5 p.m. It's Steamboat's biggest arts and crafts show of the year and features jewelry, painting, metalwork, and other art forms  there's another rodeo in the Series at Romick Arena Saturday night,.
