Sun Peak Resort, B.C., runs a huge lift-served summer bike park. This summer, mountain bikers can get a special package that puts together lodging with mountain biking access.

The Sunburst Express Chairlift accesses the resort's mountain bike terrain, which is open daily from June 27 to Sept. 7. The park encompasses 2,000 feet of vertical. Its 39 trails tally up to 70 kilometers in distance, all popping with 255 features.

The resort's Discover the Bike Park package starts from $79. It includes one-night accommodations and bike park lift tickets. The price is based on double occupancy in a standard hotel room or studio.

The package is available from June 27 to Sept. 7. It also will be offered again Fridays to Sundays, Sept.11- 27.

The mountain bike park accommodates all levels of riders. Thirteen trails target beginners with long sweeping gentle double-track tours or innumerable switchbacks such as those in Smooth Smoothie. Ten paths challenge intermediate riders with a little more pitch on trails such as the Big Rock Ride. The remaining trails, such as Bomber X, Kaboom, and Insanity One, dive down steep, technical slopes designed for those with expert riding skills.

The resort rents mountain bikes at Time to Ride, located in Delta Sun Peaks. Helmets as well as arm and leg pads for downhill biking are available, too.
